The process of designing a piece of jewellery in 3D software such as Shapr3D can be broken down into several steps:

1. Sketching: The designer begins by sketching their ideas on paper or digitally in the software. This helps them to get a sense of the proportions and overall shape of the piece.

2. Modeling: Using the 3D modeling tools in the software, the designer creates the basic shape of the piece. They can manipulate and refine the shape until they are satisfied with the design.

3. Detailing: Once the basic shape is complete, the designer can add details such as filigree, engravings, or gemstone settings. They can also experiment with different textures and finishes.

4. Testing: The designer can use the software to test the design in different lighting conditions and angles. This helps them to identify any areas that may need adjustment.

5. Exporting: Once the design is finalized, it can be exported in a file format that is compatible with 3D printers or casting machines.

6. Printing: The exported file is then loaded onto a 3D printer that uses resin as the printing material. The printer creates the piece by adding layers of resin until the final shape is achieved.

7. Post-processing: After the 3D printing is complete, the piece may require post-processing such as curing, polishing, or sanding to achieve the desired finish.

8. Casting (optional): If the designer wishes to produce the piece in metal, the 3D printed object can be used as a mold for casting. This involves pouring molten metal into the mold and allowing it to solidify before removing the piece.
